 The Freedom of Information Act 2000 came into force on 1 January 2005 – DFID is committed to openness and transparency.
Anyone can make a request for information and you have two related rights under the Freedom of Information Act:
- to be told whether the information exists;
- to receive the information (subject to cost limits and exemptions).
