Micro-enterprise projects in Uganda
Programme Outlines DFID may have written in relation to any of your micro-enterprise projects in Uganda, and any follow up research/analysis into the success of your programmes.
The following information is available on the websites of two DFID funded projects.
The Business Services Market Development project. This 3 year project came to an end in November 2005. But the website provides a wealth of material on the work supported by the project and lessons learnt. We would direct you in particular to the

The Financial Sector Deepening Uganda (FSDU) project. This project is ongoing. Its mission is to increase access to affordable and appropriate financial services for the rural and urban poor in Uganda. The project team is working with a range of partners at various levels (Macro, meso and micro) to develop financial markets, looking beyond micro-credit to other services most notably savings. The website has links to a range of background papers on the Microfinance sector in Uganda as well as more detail on the areas of specific project focus. The FSDU team also produce a monthly newsletter "deepening" copies of which are also posted on the website. A good starting point for you could be to read the
