Payment and Performance
1) How many supplier invoices were received and processed during the financial year 2006-2007.
2) How many invoices are paid within the 30 day BPP code.
3) Is invoice processing centralised and if so how many people are involved in the process.
A total number of 20,303 invoices were received and paid by DFID’s UK based departments during the 2006-07 financial year. Of these 95.82% were paid within 30 days.
In addition DFID has a number of independent accounts offices overseas. Statistics on the volume and performance on payment of invoices in these offices are not held centrally.
The accounting system used in DFID departments in the UK is CODA Financials. Our overseas offices use a wide variety of accounting systems to process payment of invoices. These include simple spreadsheets, bespoke systems and making use of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office post accounts system.
We do not hold information on the number of staff directly involved in payment processing; DFID operates a devolved accounting system, whereby staff with appropriate training across DFID process their own departments’ payments.
