Internal Audit Department
Internal Audit Department provides an independent and objective opinion to the Accounting Officer and DFID managers on risk management, control and governance. It reviews the policies, procedures and operations established to ensure:
- the appropriate assessment of risk;
- the achievement of objectives;
- the reliability of internal and external reporting and accountability processes;
- compliance with applicable laws and regulations; and
- compliance with the behavioural and ethical standards set for the organisation.

Procurement Group
Procurement Group handles DFID's contracting of consultants and procurement agents, assistance to partner organisations with a need to improve their procurement capacity, and implementation of the untying initiative.

Programme Guidance and Risk Assurance Group
Programme Guidance Group facilitates the delivery of effective DFID programmes in pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals. It does this by giving sound proportional advice on the mandatory requirements for effective implementation of projects and programmes; drafting and updating guidance notes on aid instruments – particularly in relation to new ways of working, and managing the contract for DFID’s training on the programme and project cycle (that is TAPED – Tools & Procedures for Effective Development).

Resource Management Group
The Resource Management Group secures the financial resources from HM Treasury that DFID needs to deliver its PSA, and ensures that the Department manages them effectively and within expenditure limits. Resource Management should be the first point of contact for issues regarding Spending Review, Resource Allocation Round, Finstats, Parliamentary Estimates, the FCO Service Level Agreement, the Finance and Audit Committee, and Euro preparations.

Human Resources Division’s purpose is to ensure that DFID has the right people in the right place with the right skills to deliver our objectives. Human Resources Customer Services and Support
HR Customer Services & Support is responsible for carrying out personnel management and payroll services on behalf of DFID staff serving in the UK and overseas; plus strategic relationships with and provision of guidance to International, Regional and Corporate Departments and overseas offices about staff management and terms and conditions issues. HRCSS is also responsible for Secondment and Interchange strategy; provides support to the Senior Civil Servants within DFID; the Fast Stream; the Honours Committee and co-ordinates work on Non-Departmental Public Bodies. HRCSS undertakes supervision of the Employee Health and Wellbeing Team which is the focal point for all health, welfare and counselling issues in DFID.
