Private Sector Development consultants for Tajikistan
A. Private sector development policy and capacity building Specialist
(International, 25 person-months)
Would be assisting the government in creating enabling environment for PSD,
including
- reducing risk and uncertainty for the potential investor or entrepreneur
- removing barriers that actually prevent entry
- reducing the cost of doing business in Tajikistan including entry and
exit costs.
Education: Advanced degree in economic and business management, law or
related discipline
Experience: Extensive work experience in Private Sector Development and
conducting policy dialogue with decision makers at the highest levels of
government and the private sector.
The specialist will be an expert on issues such as sequencing of PSD,
creating conducive business environments, issues related to property rights,
legal and regulatory frameworks, taxes, customs and duties, access to finance
and banking as well as other PSD-relevant and sector-specific issues ideally
within Former Soviet Union.
B. Business Development Service and Market Access Specialist (International,
29 person-months)
Would be responsible to provide customized, hands-on assistance to selected
Tajik companies with the view to prepare them to qualify for investment deals
and developing successful, sustainable businesses practices post-investment.
Develop a concept of investment and business promotion for Tajikistan (i)
- Identify prospective Tajik and foreign investors looking for joint-venture
partners, through detailed firm specific research
- Gain audiences with decision
makers in these companies so that sales presentations could be conducted
- Design
and implement firm-specific investment missions from Tajikistan to source
country and vice versa
Education: The specialist will have a higher degree in
Development Economics, Business Administration,
Experience: Up to 5 years
hands-on experience in business development, experience on the ground, and
strong networks within the business community ideally in Former Soviet Union
