Statistics on International Development 2006

Statistics on International Development (SID) 2006 provides details of total external assistance, both bilateral (country to country) and through multilateral agencies, from all official UK sources.

The statistics are presented on a financial year (April-March) basis, with the exception of the international comparisons, which are on a calendar year basis.

Previous editions of SID have also included tables showing indicators of development progress (using Millennium Development Goal 'MDG' statistics). This information has been excluded this year since it is widely available elsewhere and sources of such information are provided in Annex 3. Additional explanatory text has been included this year to provide readers with a better understanding of aid statistics and to guide them through the various sections.
