DFID is seeking a Head of Research to implement its new Research Strategy – a strategy that will drive up to £1 billion spend over the next 5 years to ensure research makes a much greater impact on the reduction of global poverty and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.

An internationally respected leader in science and research, the Head of Research will position DFID as a key opinion former in the global research and development effort, forging partnerships with others to tackle the most pressing global research challenges as part of DFID’s response to climate change, food shortages, faster growth, killer diseases, state fragility and social exclusion, whilst also anticipating future risks and opportunities.
